TESDA XII PERSONNEL UNDERGO TRAINING COURSE ON STATISTICS

Some twenty-seven (27) TESDA XII personnel coming from its different operating units throughout the region successfully completed a training course on LearnStat (Learning Statistics the Easy Way).  It was a 16-hour learning session facilitated by six (6) TESDA XII regional office technical staff on September 27 – 28, 2011 at the Celema’s Place, Koronadal City.

Said activity was an initial move to achieve the objective of TESDA to build a strong corps of technical vocational education and training (TVET) statisticians in all of its units.  Thus, in memorandum dated August 23, 2011 issued by the Deputy Director General for Sectoral TVET, Milagros Dawa-Hernandez, a Statistics for All Program in TESDA is being introduced using the training course called “Learning Stat the Easy Way” developed by the Bureau of Labor and Employment Statistics (BLES).  Enclosed in the said memorandum was a CD which contains the eleven (11) training modules to learn statistics in a convenient fashion furnished to all operating units of TESDA which anyone can gain basic knowledge of either through self study or a learning session.  Hence, the above-mentioned activity was carried out as part of the staff development program.  This was ably participated by 11 personnel from the Regional Operations Division; five from Finance and Administrative Division; one each from the Provincial Offices of North Cotabato, South Cotabato, and Cotabato City District Office; and two personnel each from the Provincial Offices of Sultan Kudarat, and Sarangani/General Santos, Surallah National Agricultural School, and General Santos National School of Arts and Trades.
